SS 430 Fasteners are low carbon ferritic stainless steel which, in mildly corrosive environments exposure have better corrosion resistance approaching that of some nickel SS fasteners. This grade has excellent oxidation resistance even in elevated temperatures. These fasteners are ductile in nature and do not work harden and can be formed using a variety of forming process. The mild stretch bending operation, as well as standard drawing and the bending process, can introduce to shape fasteners. It gets a ferritic structure in temperature below 1650 degree F.
It is resistive to a wide range of corrosive media. It is polished with a mirror-like finish makes it more corrosive resistant. It is resistive to general and local corrosion even in cyclic reducing environments. These perform well in the environments containing high levels of chlorides and halides.
