Technical data:
SS 416 Round Bars & Wires is a martensitic, free machining, a chromium steel alloy that is generally standard SS grade. It is the great highest machinable of any steel about 85% of that free machining. The martensitic SS designed to be hardened by heat treatment process and also it is a corrosion resistant alloy. However, other grades are not resistive to corrosion, it shows good corrosion and oxidation resistance adding with plus high strength in harden and tempered conditions. These are easily machined and always magnetic in nature. It has low frictional properties that reduce seizing and galling.
It has outstanding machinability. The best machining results are achieved in subcritical annealed conditions. It has good weldability too; all standard welding process can be used. For the welding low hydrogen electrodes are used for the welding process. This grade is preheated in a temperature range between 392- 572 degree F.  It is stress relieved at a temperature range 1202 to 1247 degree F.
